Copyright

The copyright on this blog and all posts within it are:

© 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 Michael B. Trausch < mike @ trausch.us >.
Licensed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License.

My definition of “attribution” is to prominently display, at or near the top of the article, the name and URL of this blog (e.g., “Trausch’s Little Home, http:// mike. trausch .us /blog”, or make the title or a prominent area near the title a link to the original post itself.

I would appreciate (but I do not require) that you either disable comments or forward comments on republished content back to my blog. I do not have time to go out and check the entire Internet to see if I can reply to comments somewhere.

Anyone who fails to comply with my (IMHO, reasonable) attribution requirement will be faced with a DMCA takedown notice or similar such action as called for by the laws in the region where the content is hosted or where the domain name’s owner is located. That might seem mean to some people, but I think it is not: I want people to respect free software and free content licenses just as much as I want people to respect proprietary licenses. You can choose not to agree to a license, but that means you do not get the privileges it grants to you. If you cannot redistribute my content properly, I will ensure that you are not allowed to redistribute it at all.

And honestly, I would prefer that you link to my post from a helpful, non-identical post of some sort, hrm? Don’t just copy my content because it will get you search hits. I find too much of that crap going on, and I will make my blog available under the highly restricted “All Rights Reserved” copyright “license”, and grant special exceptions only to particular sites by request only.
